Semenyo scores but Chelsea's substitutes sink Bournemouth 3-2

Antoine Semenyo added another goal to his season on Saturday, yet Bournemouth left Stamford Bridge with nothing after Chelsea's substitutes turned a two-goal deficit into a 3-2 win.

The Ghana forward struck before the break, with Evanilson also finding the net, and the visitors led 2-0 at half-time. Xabi Alonso reacted by sending on Cole Palmer, and the change decided the game.

How Chelsea turned it

Palmer scored twice after the restart, and Joao Pedro, another substitute, headed the winner in the 88th minute. The result lifts Chelsea to fourth in the Premier League table.

Alonso did not hide from a poor first half. "The first half was my fault," the Chelsea head coach said afterwards.

For Ghanaian supporters, Semenyo's goal is the consolation: his scoring form continues even as Bournemouth's afternoon unravelled at Stamford Bridge.
